Centre for European Studies, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Ottawa, are pleased to present an European Perspectives <\/em><\/strong>Series Lecture<\/p>\n

\u201cAvenues of Cooperation between Canada and the Visegrad 4: A Roundtable with the Political Directors <\/strong>of Ministries of Foreign Affairs from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and the Slovak Republic\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Moderator<\/strong>: Professor David Long<\/strong>, Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA)<\/p>\n

Roundtable participants<\/strong> include Mr. V\u00e1cl\u00e1v B\u00e1lek<\/strong>, Political Director, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Czech Republic; Mr. Marcin Bosacki<\/strong>, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Canada; Mr.<\/strong>\u0139ubomir Reh\u00e1k<\/strong>, Political Director, Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic;Mr. Szabolcs Tak\u00e1cs<\/strong>, Deputy State Secretary, Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Hungary; and Mrs. Carla Wursterov\u00e1<\/strong>, Executive Director of the International Visegr\u00e1d Fund.<\/p>\n

The roundtable participants will discuss a range of topics including the recent developments in Iran, Iraq, Syria, and the Middle East; the results of the Canada-EU Summit and the opportunities for bilateral trade and investment; energy security and Canada\u2019s role as a global energy leader; and the situation in Ukraine as a follow-up on the NATO Summit.<\/p>\n

The event is supported, in part, by a grant from the European Union, and in collaboration with the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Ottawa.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
