CES professors Achim Hurrelmann<\/a> and Crina Viju-Miljusevic<\/a> are part of a research team that released a knowledge synthesis report on the future of the Canada-UK trade relationship after Brexit. The report is titled \u201cPolitical Contestation about International Economic Agreements: Lessons for the Canada-UK Trade Relationship after Brexit<\/strong>\u201d. It examines under which circumstances international trade and investment agreements \u2013 like a potential post-Brexit Canada-UK agreement \u2013 become politically contentious, and which best practices exist for channeling such contention into evidence-based and impactful policy debates. The report was officially presented in London\/UK on December 12, 2018 and available here:<\/p>\n

The report emerges from a knowledge synthesis project funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) and the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) of the United Kingdom. The research team is constituted by\u00a0Achim Hurrelmann\u00a0(Carleton University) and\u00a0Ece \u00d6zlem Atikcan\u00a0(University of Warwick\/UK) as principal investigators, as well as\u00a0Crina Viju-Miljusevic (Carleton University) and\u00a0Adam Chalmers\u00a0(King\u2019s College London\/UK).
