The\u00a0Jean Monnet Chair in EU External Relations<\/a> at Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada) is inviting applications for a Short-term Visiting Scholar position for a period of three weeks in May\/June 2025 (during the period May 5 \u2013 June 17, 2025).<\/p>\n

The Visiting Scholar position will include teaching a module on the EU\u2019s regional cooperation mechanisms, which involves six three-hour sessions, consultations with students, constructing the course outline for the module, and evaluation of student written and oral work. The module is part of an advanced undergraduate\/graduate level course entitled, “The EU, Russia and China: Competing Regionalism in Eurasia”. The course is provided by the Institute of European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies (EURUS<\/a>) at Carleton University.<\/p>\n

In addition to teaching, the Visiting Scholar will be expected to provide consultation with students and to offer one public research lecture at the Centre for European Studies on a topic related to the EU as a regional actor.<\/p>\n

Qualified applicants must be based at an academic institution in an EU member state. We are seeking applicants with a completed Ph.D. in a relevant field and with a record of publications, relevant teaching experience, and an active research program.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Jean Monnet Chair in EU External Relations: Competing Regionalism in Eurasia<\/em>\u00a0supports teaching, public and policy debates, and dissemination of resources on the EU as a foreign policy actor, the EU\u2019s sponsored policies within the Eurasian region and the EU-China relations.<\/p>\n
