The Centre for European Studies (CES) and the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (Foundation Office Canada) are delighted to announce that Dr. Mikhail A. Polianskii has been selected as the 2025 Konrad Adenauer Visiting Scholar on Transatlantic Relations. Dr. Polianskii will be in residence at Carleton University throughout the Fall 2025 term.<\/p>\n
Dr.\u00a0Polianskii is a post\u2011doctoral researcher at the Leibniz\u2011Institut f\u00fcr Friedens\u2011 und Konfliktforschung Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF) in Germany, where he co\u2011leads the comparative project \u201cPATTERN: How Does the Past Matter? The Russian War of Aggression against Ukraine and the Cold War.\u201d His work focuses on Russian foreign and domestic policy, the evolution of transatlantic security institutions, and the dynamics of hybrid warfare.<\/p>\n
During his tenure at Carleton, Dr.\u00a0Polianskii will pursue a research agenda on transatlantic security relations, examining in particular the interplay between Russia\u2019s strategic disengagement from European security frameworks and the transformation of transatlantic relations. He will teach a graduate\u2011level seminar entitled: \u201cRussia and the West: Hybrid Warfare and Transatlantic Security\u201d.<\/p>\n
