This project, funded by the SSHRC, brings together Canadian scholars from seven universities with European scholars interested in this topic.<\/p>\n<p>To wind up the seven-year program, the CETD\u2019s International Trade Group is announcing the organization of a seminar devoted to the general theme of Canada \u2013 EU disputes.<\/p>\n<p>Canadian and European students enrolled in law programs at the first and graduate levels or students working in related disciplines are invited to submit papers.<\/p>\n<p>This seminar will be held at McGill University on Friday, February 3, 2017. Eight students will present papers on various aspects of the general theme, including two students from Europe who will address European perspectives.<\/p>\n<p>Proposals will be welcomed such issues as the CETD Investment Tribunal and other aspects of investor-state arbitration under CETA,\u00a0 the different forms of public dispute settlement set out in CETA as well as potential WTO disputes. Proposals on disputes under related trade agreements will also be considered.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Nicolas Lamp of Queens University and Professor Marc Bungenberg of the University of the Saarland will assist in leading this seminar. Papers may be presented in either English or French. The editors of the McGill Journal of Dispute Resolution and the McGill students Arbitration Society will be participating and the best papers can be submitted to the MJDR for publication.<\/p>\n<p>Abstracts of papers (max. 500 words) should be submitted to <a href=\"&#109;&#97;&#x69;&#x6c;&#116;&#111;&#x3a;&#x41;&#114;&#109;&#x61;&#x6e;&#100;&#46;&#x64;&#x65;&#77;&#101;&#x73;&#x74;&#114;&#97;&#x6c;&#x40;&#109;&#99;&#x67;&#x69;&#108;&#108;&#x2e;&#x63;&#97;\" target=\"_blank\">&#x41;&#x72;&#x6d;&#x61;&#x6e;&#x64;&#x2e;&#x64;&#x65;&#x4d;&#x65;&#115;&#116;&#114;&#97;&#108;&#64;&#109;cgill&#46;&#x63;&#x61;<\/a>, Jean Monnet Professor of Law Emeritus Professor, and to <a href=\"m&#97;&#105;&#x6c;&#x74;&#x6f;:&#76;&#117;&#x6b;&#x61;&#x73;&#46;V&#97;&#x6e;&#x68;&#x6f;nn&#97;&#101;&#x6b;&#x65;&#x72;&#64;&#109;&#97;&#x69;&#x6c;&#x2e;m&#99;&#103;&#x69;&#x6c;&#x6c;&#46;c&#97;\" target=\"_blank\">Lukas.Vanhonnaeker@mail.<wbr \/>mcgill.ca<\/a>\u00a0by November 15, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Acceptances will be sent out very shortly after that date. Selected participants will be expected to send their drafts by January 27, 2017. Papers should follow the McGill citation guide, include a short abstract (300 words), a table of content and a bibliography. Papers should be done within the limit of 10,000 words (including footnotes \/ excluding abstract, table of content and bibliography).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Version fran\u00e7aise<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>Au cours des sept derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, le Dialogue Transatlantique Canada-Europe (DTCE) a eu l\u2019occasion d\u2019aborder diff\u00e9rents aspects li\u00e9s aux relations publiques entre le Canada et l\u2019Union europ\u00e9enne. Ce projet, financ\u00e9 par le CRSH, rassemble des chercheurs issus de sept universit\u00e9s canadiennes ainsi que des chercheurs europ\u00e9ens travaillant sur le sujet.<\/p>\n<p>Pour clore ce programme de sept ans, le groupe international du DTCE annonce l\u2019organisation d\u2019un s\u00e9minaire consacr\u00e9 aux disputes entre le Canada et l\u2019Union europ\u00e9enne.<\/p>\n<p>Les \u00e9tudiants en droits canadien et europ\u00e9en travaillant sur des projets li\u00e9s \u00e0 ce th\u00e8me sont invit\u00e9s \u00e0 soumettre leur article.<\/p>\n<p>Le s\u00e9minaire se donnera \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 McGill, le vendredi 3 f\u00e9vrier 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Huit \u00e9tudiants seront s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9s afin de pr\u00e9senter leur travail \u00e0 cette occasion. Deux \u00e9tudiants provenant d\u2019Europe aborderont des perspectives europ\u00e9ennes. Les soumissions portant sur des probl\u00e9matiques telles que l\u2019 \u00ab Investment Court System \u00bb et d\u2019autres aspects de l\u2019arbitrage investisseur-\u00c9tat dans le CETA sont les bienvenues. Les diff\u00e9rentes formes de m\u00e9canismes de r\u00e9solution des conflits ainsi que des sujets portant sur le droit de l\u2019OMC sont \u00e9galement des sujets potentiels. Des propositions ayant trait aux conflits sous d\u2019autres accords seront \u00e9galement consid\u00e9r\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p>Les professeurs Nicolas Lamp de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Queens et Marc Bungenberg de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Saarland m\u00e8neront les d\u00e9bats lors du s\u00e9minaire.
