Pal<\/a><\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Centre for Governance and Public Management (CGPM) at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carleton.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\">Carleton University<\/a> focuses on political and administrative reform projects in the developing world, post-communist societies and post-conflict regimes. Building on the expertise\u00a0 located in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carleton.ca\/sppa\" target=\"_blank\">School of Public Policy and Administration<\/a> (SPPA) and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.carleton.ca\/fpa\/\" target=\"_blank\">Faculty of Public Affairs<\/a> (FPA) at Carleton University, CGPM\u2019s overarching, long-term goal is to be recognized nationally and internationally as a leading Canadian centre of expertise on public sector and public management reform in transitional and developing countries. To achieve this goal, CGPM\u2019s activities will concentrate on three key areas: public administration\/management, public sector leadership, and policy development and implementation.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_112\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\" style=\"width: 160px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www2.carleton.ca\/fpa\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-112 \" src=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/cgpm\/wp-content\/uploads\/PiotrDutkiewicz.jpg\" alt=\"PiotrDutkiewicz\" width=\"160\" height=\"160\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><a href=\"http:\/\/http-server.carleton.ca\/~vperebo\/piotrdutkiewicz\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dr. Piotr Dutkiewicz<\/a><\/p><\/div>\n<p>Under the direction of <a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/sppa\/people\/pal-leslie\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dr. Leslie A. Pal<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/eurus\/people\/dutkiewicz-piotr\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dr. Piotr Dutkiewicz<\/a>, CGPM will contribute to and strengthen SPPA\/FPA capacity in the following four areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><i>Research<\/i> <\/strong>\u2013 by providing new research opportunities for individual faculty members\u00a0and SPPA by participating in CGPM\u2019s projects, seminars and conferences. It\u00a0also will provide additional opportunities for field research and in future will engage in policy debates in the field of good governance both in and\u00a0outside of Canada;<\/li>\n<li><strong><i>Teaching<\/i> <\/strong>\u2013 by organizing speakers\u2019 series, inviting renowned scholars, developing new cases (linked to field work) and teaching tools based on international examples;<\/li>\n<li><strong><i>Institutional Capacity of SPPA (and other FPA units) <\/i><\/strong>\u2013 by stimulating institutional links with Canadian and international research centres and universities, NGOs and organizations that work in the fields of northern development, local governance, labour market, gender (those areas in which SPPA has shown comparative advantages);<\/li>\n<li><i><strong>Publications<\/strong> <\/i>\u2013\u00a0CGPM will open new publishing opportunities, mainly for graduate students and new faculty by organizing a new e-journal on public management reform.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-26\" src=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/cgpm\/wp-content\/uploads\/Proces-Areas.png\" alt=\"Proces Areas\" width=\"419\" height=\"364\" srcset=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/cgpm\/wp-content\/uploads\/Proces-Areas.png 419w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/cgpm\/wp-content\/uploads\/Proces-Areas-160x139.png 160w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/cgpm\/wp-content\/uploads\/Proces-Areas-240x208.png 240w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/cgpm\/wp-content\/uploads\/Proces-Areas-400x347.png 400w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/cgpm\/wp-content\/uploads\/Proces-Areas-360x313.png 360w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 419px) 100vw, 419px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Recently CGPM entered a partnership with the\u00a0Valdai Club (see: <a href=\"http:\/\/valdaiclub.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Partnership<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Centre for Governance and Public Management (CGPM) at Carleton University focuses on political and administrative reform projects in the developing world, post-communist societies and post-conflict regimes.
