Bill Willmore’s research lab investigates stress, with a focus on oxidative stress, and its effects on health, aging and disease. Some of these stresses are imposed by environmental pollutants (e.g., bisphenol A, heavy metals, PCBs, nanotechnology) and contribute to the development of the disease state. The Willmore lab examines the biochemical and molecular mechanisms by which pollutants promote oxidative stress. He partners with researchers at Health Canada and Environment Canada.
