Nations","degrees":"","expertise":"no","profile_image":"1223","heading":"","biography":"<p>Graeme Reed is a strategic advisor with the Assembly of First Nations (AFN), where he advocates for the inclusion of First Nations in international, national and regional dialogues around climate change and energy policy. In this role, he has had the privilege of representing the AFN in a wide variety of contexts, including serving as a board member for Climate Action Network Canada and the International Institute for Sustainable Development, being a member of the Canadian Environment Domestic Advisory Group, and attending the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) as the Indigenous North American representative.<\/p>\n<p>Reed completed his doctorate at the University of Guelph, where he studied Indigenous governance, environmental governance and the climate crisis, and is currently a post-doctoral associate at the Centre for Indigenous Knowledges and Languages at York University. He is the coordinating lead author of the forthcoming “For Our Future: Indigenous Resilience Report” as part of the Government of Canada’s national climate assessment and is a former co-chair of the International Indigenous Peoples Forum on Climate Change at the UNFCCC.
