Senior Fellow at the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI). Prior to Carleton, Thompson spent 17 years as a reporter with the Toronto Star, Canada\u2019s largest circulation daily newspaper, where he covered business, politics, foreign affairs, defence and immigration.<\/p>\n<p>A graduate of Carleton\u2019s Bachelor of Journalism program with a Master\u2019s in International Relations from the University of Kent at Canterbury, Thompson has led key international initiatives, including The Rwanda Initiative and the Centre for Media and Transitional Societies.
