During this time no classes will take place, similar to the Winter Break period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of this change, final examinations in fall term courses and mid-term examinations in fall\/winter courses are being held all seven days of the week, Monday through Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The break comes after Senate voted in favour of testing a Fall Break. The issue was brought to Senate after students overwhelmingly voted in support of a fall break in an online poll sent out by the Carleton University Students\u2019 Association (CUSA) and the Carleton Academic Student Government (CASG).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At this time, the Fall Break is not a permanent addition to the academic calendar. The Senate approved it as part of a two-year pilot program beginning in 2013-2014. After this two-year pilot, Senate will address the issue again and consider adding a fall break to the undergraduate calendar permanently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For the first time this year, Carleton University students will have a week-long break from October 28 to November 1, 2013.
