This work is rooted in <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">trust, integrity, and open communication<\/strong>, and recognizes that trust must be actively earned through transparency and meaningful follow-through.<br><br>Guided by Indigenous principles of <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Peace, a Good Mind, and Strength<\/strong>, the Task Force seeks to come together in a good way. This process centres Indigenous teachings of shared voice, collective responsibility and deep relational practice. The Indigenous Elders supporting the process believe everyone has a role to play in listening, contributing, and moving together with good minds and good hearts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"capturing-the-conversations\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Capturing the Conversations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Given the nature of these conversations, these sessions will not be recorded by the Task Force. Instead, a note taker will be present. The notes will be held by the co-chairs, anonymized and then shared with the Task Force. Everyone is asked to respect the privacy of the group by not recording the session.<br><br>Through story-sharing, listening, and showing each other respect, the Task Force aims to foster healing, strengthen connection, and to move forward together toward shared aspirations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"shared-commitments-for-participation\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Shared Commitments for Participation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To support a meaningful and constructive dialogue, participants are asked to commit to the following principles:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Engage with Respect, Kindness and Care<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Arrive with good intentions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Treat all participants with kindness, dignity and consideration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Value and learn from a diversity of experiences, identities, perspectives and opinions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assume good intentions while recognizing the impact of words and actions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing language or behaviour<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Listen Deeply and Speak Authentically<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Listen to understand, not to respond<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Speak from your own experience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Welcome all voices with curiosity and empathy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ask clarifying questions when meaning is unclear<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recognize that words may carry different meanings for different people<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Share Space and Responsibility<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Contribute to the conversation to the best of your ability<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be mindful of how much space you take:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you tend to speak often, practice listening and making space<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you tend to hold back, consider sharing your perspective<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Respect silence as part of reflection and processing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Share responsibility for maintaining a constructive and inclusive dialogue<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Engage Differences with Care<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be open to perspectives that differ from your own<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Critique ideas, not individuals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be willing to respectfully challenge and be challenged<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Seek shared values, even in the presence of disagreement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Approach discomfort with care, not blame<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recognize that conflict, when approached thoughtfully, can support growth and change<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Support a Climate of Trust and Learning<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Accept others\u2019 honesty and candidness as a gift<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Suspend judgment \u2014 of yourself and others \u2014 and allow space for unpolished thinking<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Honour confidentiality: do not share names or personal identifiers outside the conversation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Approach the conversation as a space for learning, not winning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"role-of-facilitators\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Role of Facilitators<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Facilitators will actively support these guidelines and help create a space that is respectful, kind, inclusive and productive. They may intervene when needed to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ensure balanced participation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Uphold respectful dialogue<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support clarity and understanding<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain alignment with the purpose of the conversation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"closing-reflection\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Closing Reflection<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>These guidelines are intended to help create a space where meaningful dialogue can occur.
