At a time when the intersection of religion and violence continues to occupy the public imagination, t<span style=\"color: #222222;\">his evening of literary arts seeks to explore the largely unresolved episodes of 1984.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Program<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>Jaspreet Singh:<\/b><b><i>Helium<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>5.30pm<\/b><span class=\"s1\"><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>Patterson Hall Room 303<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The author of the highly acclaimed work of fiction,\u00a0<i>Helium<\/i>, based on the factual events of 1984, will be giving a reading of his book, followed by a discussion with the author.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>Kultar\u2019s Mime<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\" style=\"text-align: center;\">Composed &amp; Directed by<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\" style=\"text-align: center;\">J. Mehr Kaur and Sarbpreet Singh<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>7.00pm<\/b><span class=\"s1\"><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>Kailash Mital Theatre<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Kultar\u2019s Mime is an artistic response specifically to the anti-Sikh pogroms of Delhi (these pogroms occurred throughout India). It\u00a0 tells the story of 1984 using theatre as the medium, together with poetry and classical rags.
