Canada–Baltics Horizon Europe Networking Event

The Embassies of Canada in the Baltic States (Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia), the Embassy of Lithuania to Canada, in collaboration with Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), as well as the National Contact Points (NCPs) from each of the three countries, are pleased to invite researchers, innovators, academic institutions and organizations from both Canada and the Baltic region to participate in a virtual networking event.

This is the first event of its kind, aimed at fostering international partnerships and enhancing cooperation opportunities under Horizon Europe Clusters 4 and 5, which focus on Digital, Industry and Space (Cluster 4) and Climate, Energy and Mobility (Cluster 5).

The event will take place online via Microsoft Teams on May 29, 2025, and will be held at the following times:

  • 17:30–19:30 EET (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia)
  • 10:30–12:30 EDT (Ottawa/Toronto)
  • 9:30–11:30 CDT (Winnipeg)
  • 7:30–9:30 PDT (Vancouver)

Participants will explore partnerships and project ideas for upcoming Horizon Europe calls in the following thematic areas:

  • Digitized and Energy-Efficient Buildings
  • Battery Value Chain and Hydrogen
  • Renewable Energy & Waste Valorization
  • Transport Decarbonization & Smart Mobility
  • AI & Data
  • Robotics & Automation
  • Photonics & Quantum Technology
  • Space Technologies

Participants will have the opportunity to briefly present their project ideas and expertise.

Organizers highly encourage you to present your project idea linked to a specific Horizon Europe call from WP 2025 and introduce your institution.

A draft text of the Horizon Europe “main” work programme 2025 has been pre-published. You can find it on the Horizon Europe work programmes webpage. The adoption of the final work programme and the opening of the first calls for proposals are planned by mid-May.

Participants expressing interest in presenting will receive guidelines by email after May 15th, explaining how to prepare a short presentation (one-pager) and effectively pitch their idea during the event.

Participation is free of charge, but registration is mandatory.
