It reaffirms our commitment to serve our world and nurture global citizens.\r\n\r\n \r\n<h2><strong>Strategic Mission\r\n<\/strong><\/h2>\r\nCarleton University will enhance its international reputation for research and teaching in programs which respond to the needs of society today and which anticipate the needs of the future; this will enhance the capacity of Carleton students, faculty and staff to engage and lead international initiatives thereby nurturing global citizens.\r\n\r\n \r\n<h2><strong>Goals<\/strong><\/h2>\r\nThe International Strategic Plan 2020-2025 focuses on (i) enhancing our international research and funding (ii) improving international students\u2019 experiences (iii) strengthening our international teaching capabilities (iv) increasing international student mobility, and (v) cultivating a campus culture that promotes and celebrates internationalization at home.\r\n<ol>\r\n \t<li><strong>International Research and Funding<\/strong><strong>\r\n<\/strong>Strengthen our reputation as a globally engaged university through the development and stewardship of strategic and sustainable research, increased international research funding, international research collaborations and leveraging our location in a global capital city.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong> International Students <\/strong>\r\nStrengthen recruitment, retention and success of international students, while recognizing the differences in the needs and financial resources of graduate and undergraduate students. International sponsors may undertake due diligence to ensure that Carleton University is eligible for the grant and\/or contract funding. At this stage, Carleton International assists faculty members to align their proposals with the sponsor\u2019s strategic interests or needs. In addition, our office liaises with the various departments of the university to provide broad support in order to get Carleton University registered as a research provider. After the international sponsors announce their award or contract decision, Carleton International reviews the terms and conditions\u2014including warranties, liabilities, and intellectual property rights\u2014and negotiates and signs the legal project documentation.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ci\/wp-content\/uploads\/4-240x180.jpeg\")

Continuous and systematic collection of data not only improves the management of your project but provides for greater accountability to funders and importantly, accountable, effective, efficient and impactful projects. Several international researchers require at the proposal stage evidence. Building a monitoring and evaluation framework improves the project management of the project, but also improves the chances of future funding. Carleton International provides on a cost-recovery basis project and partner coordinators that assist PIs with project implementation and work in teams to assist with developing Monitoring frameworks for evaluation of project outputs and potential impacts.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ci\/wp-content\/uploads\/7-240x180.jpeg\")
