{"id":21219,"date":"2021-04-01T15:19:55","date_gmt":"2021-04-01T19:19:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ci\/?page_id=21219"},"modified":"2021-05-11T15:41:28","modified_gmt":"2021-05-11T19:41:28","slug":"aboutinternationalization","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ci\/aboutinternationalization\/","title":{"rendered":"About Internationalization"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Internationalization at Carleton<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Carleton University\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ci\/international-strategic-plan-2020-2025\/\">International Strategic Plan<\/a>\u00a0(ISP) adopts a coordinated approach, celebrates the diversity of international initiatives, and brings together actors across campus. It uses an evidence and data-based approach aimed at facilitating the development of long-term partnerships in line with the institution\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/president\/strategic-integrated-plan-sip\/\">Strategic Integrated Plan<\/a> as well as other strategies.<\/p>\n<p>The ISP takes into consideration the institution\u2019s progress towards internationalization by focusing on goals that recognize its international outreach; and offers clarity to its decentralized internationalization structure. It aims at enhancing information gathering and sharing, building intercultural and global citizenship capacity, celebrating and promoting mobility and experiential learning, increasing international academic programs, diversifying the international student population and enhancing their unique experience, expanding internationally-funded research projects, and enhancing our international reputation. The visual below displays how our international activities are dispersed across campus and who is responsible for what activities. Carleton International works with Mitacs to offer a number of research mobility grants and\u00a0partners with foreign universities, embassies, ministries of education, university consortia, international education associations, not-for-profit organizations, and Canadian and foreign academic and research funding agencies, among others.
