{"id":1376,"date":"2012-05-04T15:03:05","date_gmt":"2012-05-04T19:03:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/ci\/?p=1376"},"modified":"2012-06-08T14:16:08","modified_gmt":"2012-06-08T18:16:08","slug":"istpcanada-announces-three-calls-for-proposals-for-canada-brazil-rd-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ci\/2012\/istpcanada-announces-three-calls-for-proposals-for-canada-brazil-rd-projects\/","title":{"rendered":"ISTPCanada Announces Three Calls for Proposals for Canada-Brazil R&#038;D Projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>International Science and Technology Partnerships Canada (ISTPCanada) and Brazilian partners, together with the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), are hosting Calls for Proposals (CFP) for industry-led collaborative R&amp;D projects between Canada and Brazil.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Objective:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Calls invite companies from Canada and Brazil to propose bilateral R&amp;D projects for the joint development of innovative products or processes. Academic institutions, research hospitals, other institutes, or research associations are strongly encouraged to participate in the projects as co-investigators.<\/p>\n<p>The CFPs aim to stimulate innovative R&amp;D cooperation that address a specific market need or challenge; demonstrate high commercial potential; and deliver benefit to all participants, and more broadly, to both countries.<\/p>\n<p>ISTPCanada and its partners will accept quality application in the following sectors:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)<\/li>\n<li>Ocean Science and Technology<\/li>\n<li>Life Sciences<\/li>\n<li>Green Energy &amp; Clean Technologies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Funding:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On the Canadian side, funding recipients are eligible to receive up to a maximum of CDN $400,000 or up to 50 percent of the total R&amp;D project value.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0ISTPCanada will award funding to Canadian companies as a non-repayable contribution. These recipients are not required to repay this contribution at the completion of the project.<\/li>\n<li>NSERC will award funding directly to collaborating Canadian university and college researchers as a non-repayable grant if the project has an integrated CRD (Collaborative R&amp;D) or ARD (Applied R&amp;D) component.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/istpcanada.ca\/international_programs\/Brazil\/ActiveCFPs\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\">Click here<\/a> for full details on this CFP and to access the CFP related documents.<\/p>\n<p><strong><strong>Deadline for Expressions of Interest Extended to June 18, 2012 (Original deadline was <\/strong>June 11, 2012)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Register for a CFP Information Session:<\/p>\n<p>All Canadian lead applicants and their Brazilian partners are strongly encouraged to participate in one of the CFP information sessions to be hosted via webcast by ISTPCanada.
