{"id":14159,"date":"2017-09-22T21:29:36","date_gmt":"2017-09-23T01:29:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/coris\/2017\/government-of-canada-department-of-foreign-affairs-trade-and-development-dfatd-foreign-government-awards-program-mexico\/"},"modified":"2018-01-08T08:33:00","modified_gmt":"2018-01-08T13:33:00","slug":"government-of-canada-department-of-foreign-affairs-trade-and-development-dfatd-foreign-government-awards-program-mexico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ci\/2017\/government-of-canada-department-of-foreign-affairs-trade-and-development-dfatd-foreign-government-awards-program-mexico\/","title":{"rendered":"Government of Canada, Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD): Foreign Government Awards Program \u2013 Mexico"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) of Mexico, through the <span lang=\"es\">Agencia Mexicana de Cooperaci\u00f3n Internacional para el Desarrollo (AMEXCID)<\/span>, is offering scholarships to Canadians who wish to participate in an exchange in Mexico for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>one academic term at the undergraduate or graduate level;<\/li>\n<li>up to twelve months for graduate-level research and postdoctoral fellowships;<\/li>\n<li>one-year specializations;<\/li>\n<li>two-year scholarships for Master\u2019s degrees; and<\/li>\n<li>three or four-year scholarships for Doctorates, including medical specializations and sub-specializations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Eligibility<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>be Canadian citizens. Canadian citizens with Mexican nationality or with a permanent residence in Mexico are not eligible;<\/li>\n<li>have completed the prerequisite degrees for the proposed program of study at the time of submitting an application, and obtained a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 80\/100 for the last degree received; and<\/li>\n<li>be accepted or currently enrolled in a program of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gob.mx\/amexcid\/documentos\/programas-academicos-ies-becas-de-excelencia?idiom=es\">participating post-secondary Mexican institutions<\/a> (Spanish only).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Scholarship Details<\/h3>\n<div class=\"slideme\">\n<dl class=\"slideme__list\">\n<dt class=\"slideme__term\"><a href=\"#slideme-scholarship-value\" class=\"slideme__heading slideme__trigger\">Scholarship Value<\/a><\/dt>\n<dd class=\"slideme__description\" id=\"slideme-scholarship-value\">\n<p>The award includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a round trip, economy class airfare ticket for the scholarship recipient only, by the most direct and economical route between Canada and Mexico purchased by the Mexican Academic Exchange Office;<\/li>\n<li>transportation from Mexico City to the host institution and back, at the start and end of the scholarship, if studying outside Mexico City (the mode of transportation will depend on the distance);<\/li>\n<li>tuition and registration fees for the academic program as established by each institution;<\/li>\n<li>tuition fees and accommodation for a language course (where eligible) for up to six months or for half the length of the award;<\/li>\n<li>a monthly living allowance paid at the end of each month of:\n<ul>\n<li>$ 9,604.80 MXN pesos for undergraduate mobility programs, specializations or for studies and research at the Master\u2019s level; or<\/li>\n<li>$ 12,006.00 MXN pesos for doctoral studies and research, medical specializations and sub-specialization research at the PhD and postdoctoral level, and postdoctoral fellowships; or<\/li>\n<li>$ 9,604.80 MXN pesos for Spanish language or Mexican culture courses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>health insurance from the Mexican Social Security Institute starting after three months.
