Mitacs just announced new destinations including: the <strong>United States, the United Kingdom, and all countries in the European Union<\/strong>.\u00a0We are currently accepting applications and recommend that students apply by May 2018 for travel planned in Fall 2018.<\/p>\n<h3>Opportunity<\/h3>\n<p>The following opportunities support travel and research from:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Australia<\/li>\n<li>Brazil<\/li>\n<li>China<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/europa.eu\/european-union\/about-eu\/countries_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EU member countries<\/a>\n<ul>\n<li>In France, both universities and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inria.fr\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Inria Research Centres<\/a> are eligible host institutions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>IsraelIndia<\/li>\n<li>Japan<\/li>\n<li>Korea<\/li>\n<li>Mexico<\/li>\n<li>Norway<\/li>\n<li>Saudi Arabia<\/li>\n<li>Tunisia<\/li>\n<li>United Kingdom<\/li>\n<li>United States<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Eligibility<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Students<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be registered as full-time senior undergraduates or graduate students at a Canadian university and remain as such throughout their Globalink Research Award<\/li>\n<li>Cannot undertake a research project at an institution where they have previously completed a degree and\/or been employed<\/li>\n<li>Cannot undertake a research project in a country where they hold citizenship (unless they are a permanent resident or citizen of Canada).<\/li>\n<li>Must be the legal age of majority in Canada (18 years of age or older)<\/li>\n<li>Must meet travel requirements for their intended destination, including visa and\/or immigration requirements and associated documentation<\/li>\n<li>Cannot hold more than one Globalink Research Award\u00a0per academic lifetime<\/li>\n<li>Cannot have previously held a Mitacs-JSPS Summer Program award<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Undergraduate eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Undergraduate applicants must have completed their second year of studies prior to departure and maintain a B average in their two most recent semesters.<\/p>\n<div id=\"ui-accordion-2-panel-0\" class=\"ui-accordion-content ui-helper-reset ui-widget-content ui-corner-bottom ui-accordion-content-active\">\n<p><strong>Home Supervising Professors<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must hold a faculty position at a Canadian university<\/li>\n<li>Must be eligible to supervise graduate students and hold Tri-Council funding<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Host Supervising Professors<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"ui-accordion-2-panel-1\" class=\"ui-accordion-content ui-helper-reset ui-widget-content ui-corner-bottom ui-accordion-content-active\">\n<div id=\"ui-accordion-2-panel-2\" class=\"ui-accordion-content ui-helper-reset ui-widget-content ui-corner-bottom ui-accordion-content-active\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"fa fa-check\">Must be recognized faculty members at their institutions<\/li>\n<li class=\"fa fa-check\">Must be eligible to host graduate students<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Funding Available<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Maximum amount: <strong>$6,000<\/strong> from Mitacs<\/li>\n<li>Maximum duration: <strong>12 &#8211; 24 weeks<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Helpful Links<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Full details the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mitacs.ca\/en\/programs\/globalink\/globalink-research-award\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Globalink Research Award<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Deadlines<\/h3>\n<p>Applications are accepted any time.
