The Horizon Europe Partnership Development Grant<\/strong> is an internal funding program that supports Carleton researchers in developing networks, partnerships, or proposals towards submitting a project with a consortium to a Horizon Europe Pillar II call for proposals. Funds can be used for developing new or existing partnerships with researchers in European Union member states and “associated countries” or to work on a proposal for submission with an existing consortium.<\/p>\n

About Horizon Europe Pillar II<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Horizon Europe is the European Union\u2019s (EU) main research and innovation program and the world\u2019s largest, with a total budget of \u20ac95.5 billion (2021-2027). Canada joined Horizon Europe in July 2024 as an associate country under Pillar II: Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness. Pillar II grant sizes typically range from \u20ac4-15 million.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Pillar II is organized into six clusters (i.e., themes); within each cluster are a number of calls for proposals with corresponding topics, which have unique criteria and deadlines. All applications must involve projects developed by a consortium (partnership of organizations across different nations, including a European member state and Horizon Europe-associated country).\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Eligibility<\/h3>\n

All full-time faculty members of professional rank (Assistant, Associate, and Full) at Carleton are eligible to apply.<\/p>\n

Funding<\/h3>\n

The award provides up to CAD$10,000. Depending on the number of applications received and availability of funds, projects may be partially funded.<\/p>\n

Duration<\/h3>\n

Grants are awarded for one year. No extensions will be granted.<\/p>\n

Deadline<\/h3>\n

Please inform Sylvie Jasen<\/a>,\u00a0International Projects Coordinator, of your intent to apply as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

A complete HE-PDG Application Form<\/a> (with CV and letter of invitation, if applicable) must be submitted in cuResearch<\/a> by February 28, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

How to Apply<\/h3>\n

Download the HE-PDG Application Form<\/a>. It is recommended that the form be completed either in Adobe Acrobat or Foxit, but not a browser. Please also read through the HE-PDG Guidelines<\/a> before applying.<\/p>\n

Save the completed application form, CV and letter of invitation to a consortium (if applicable) as one document. Submit through cuResearch on or before the deadline.<\/p>\n
