It is the official journal of NC-CIPSeR, hosted on Carleton University\u2019s Open Journal Systems platform. Pulse &amp; Praxis is more than a journal \u2014 it\u2019s a platform for knowledge translation and collaboration. The Knowledge Translation and Mobilization position will help bring published research to life by creating accessible content, visuals, and multimedia that reach diverse audiences across government, industry, academia, and the public.<strong> Note:<\/strong> This is currently a volunteer position. However, as the journal secures grants and funding opportunities, there may be potential to provide modest stipends to support these roles in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"why-it-matters\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why It Matters<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Research has the greatest impact when it moves beyond academic circles and informs real-world decisions. In the field of critical infrastructure protection and resilience, timely and accessible knowledge can help governments prepare for disasters, guide industry in securing vital systems, and support communities in adapting to new risks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By translating peer-reviewed research into clear, engaging, and actionable content, this role ensures that insights published in <em>Pulse &amp; Praxis<\/em> reach the policymakers, practitioners, and citizens who need them most. Effective knowledge mobilization strengthens Canada\u2019s capacity to anticipate threats, build resilience, and foster collaboration across sectors\u2014turning ideas into action at a time when it matters most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"responsibilities\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Responsibilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Write plain-language article summaries and bilingual abstracts (English\/French).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design visuals, infographics, and issue branding for journal content.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support production of the <em>Pulse &amp; Praxis<\/em> podcast series (author interviews, expert commentary).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contribute to social media and digital strategies to promote articles and special issues.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work with NC-CIPSeR projects and conferences to align outputs and outreach.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Track engagement metrics and suggest improvements for audience reach.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"qualifications\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Qualifications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Strong writing and communication skills, with ability to translate complex material into accessible formats.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience in design or multimedia tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Familiarity with podcast or video production is an asset.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bilingual (English\/French) preferred.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Creative, collaborative, and eager to connect research with practice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"what-youll-gain\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">What You&#8217;ll Gain<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Experience in knowledge mobilization and science communication.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A portfolio of plain-language summaries, visuals, and multimedia outputs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Networking opportunities with authors, practitioners, and policymakers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Practical skills in communications, design, and outreach strategy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"steps-to-the-application-process\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Steps to the Application Process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Joining NC-CIPSeR is a structured and supportive process designed to set you up for success.
