The\u00a0Critical Infrastructure Mapping and Analysis Substrate (CIMAS)<\/strong>\u00a0directly advances the mission of the\u00a0National Centre for Critical Infrastructure Protection, Security and Resilience (NC-CIPSeR)<\/strong>\u00a0at\u00a0Carleton University<\/strong>. Dedicated to driving critical infrastructure innovation and safeguarding Canada’s vital systems, NC-CIPSeR employs CIMAS to bridge the gap between abstract economic supply chain flows, their geolocated physical footprints and enterprise communications flows. This visual analytics tool translates years of peer-reviewed interdependency research by NC-CIPSeR leadership into proactive decision-support. By modeling spatial-economic dependencies, cyber threats, and physical hazards, CIMAS equips policy and security professionals with the insights needed to protect Canada\u2019s critical systems from cascading failures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Canadian Infrastructure Mapping and Analysis System (CIMAS) is an applied mapping and analysis platform designed to help practitioners, researchers, policymakers and decision-makers better understand Canada\u2019s critical infrastructure, economic dependencies, interdependencies and potential vulnerabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CIMAS brings infrastructure, economic and hazard-related information into an integrated visual environment. It helps users move beyond viewing infrastructure assets in isolation and examine how the systems, supply chains, communities and essential services that support Canada are connected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Launching CIMAS<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CIMAS application is hosted externally. Selecting \u201cLaunch CIMAS\u201d will take you to the Inframetric Analytics platform.<\/em> CIMAS is available for testing by contacting NC-CIPSeR. \u00a0General availability is\u00a0targeted\u00a0for Oct 12, 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
