This webinar has been organized by the Italian Ministry of Culture as part of preparations for discussion at the G20 meeting happening this July. The following text is from the Climate Heritage Network who helped organize the session:<\/em><\/p>\n

The crucial role that culture-related knowledge and skills production and acquisition play in\u00a0local socio-economic development will be explored at a webinar entitled \u2018Human Capital \u2013 The Driver of Culture-led Regeneration<\/strong>.\u2019 This webinar is being held on\u00a013 April<\/strong>\u00a0from\u00a012h to 16h40 CEST (Rome time). It is another in a series of webinars being held within the framework of the 2021 G20 culture work stream, which includes priority areas on \u2018Building Capacity Through Training and Education\u2019 as well as on climate change and culture.<\/p>\n

Cultural heritage professionals are increasingly asked to work in a multi-disciplinary environment. This has special implications in light of the climate crisis, which demands new multi-disciplinary approaches in areas\u00a0such as heritage documentation, disaster risk reduction, vulnerability assessment, conservation, education\u00a0and training as well as in the ways heritage sites are presented to visitors.<\/p>\n

This intersection of climate change, sustainable development, culture and capacity building will be specifically addressed during Session 2 of the 13 April webinar, which runs from 13h15 to 14h15 CEST.\u00a0 This session will be co-chaired by\u00a0Ewan Hyslop<\/strong>, Historic Environment\u00a0Scotland and\u00a0Julianne Polanco<\/strong>, California Office of Historic Preservation. Ewan and Juli are also Co-Chairs of the Climate Heritage Network.\u00a0Albino Jopela<\/strong>, Head of Programmes African World Heritage Fund, and CHN Co-Chair for Africa and the Arab States, will present on\u00a0the CVI Africa<\/a>\u00a0project.\u00a0 The CHN is\u00a0helping to execute this project<\/a>\u00a0along with partners around the world.\u00a0\u00a0Alison Tickell<\/strong>\u00a0of Julie\u2019s Bicycle, another CHN member, will also present in the 13 April session.<\/p>\n

As with the other G20 culture work stream webinars, the programme\u00a0aims to provide policymakers of G20 countries with the\u00a0latest evidence to define clear policy objectives and to jointly pursue them through coordinated action.\u00a0The objective of the webinar is to single out common points for policy design and action for consideration\u00a0by G20 countries in the relevant fora.<\/p>\n
