Global change ecologist and Scientist Rebellion organizer Dr. Rose Abramoff will lead a discussion on the role of scientists in society as well as the potential for radical tactics to support the broader climate movement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Rose Abramoff is a research scientist interested in climate change, biogeochemistry, land management and forest ecology. Rose studies plant roots and soils using experiments, syntheses, and modeling studies. She started as a forest ecologist interested in the seasonality of belowground carbon allocation, and in recent years has become more interested in soil carbon protection mechanisms and human effects on C sequestration. Rose is also a member and organizer with Scientist Rebellion and has participated in actions in coalition with Extinction Rebellion, Declare Emergency, Camp Migizi, and Debt for Climate.<\/p>\n
