id=\"what-is-the-maximum-storage-capacity-for-my-account\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is the maximum storage capacity for my account?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">OneDrive cloud-accessible storage has the following total account limits based on role at Carleton<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Staff and Faculty: 100GB<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Student: 10GB<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"how-do-i-free-up-storage\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">How do I free up storage?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">OneDrive has a page specifically to show which files are the <a href=\"https:\/\/cmailcarletonca-my.sharepoint.com\/largestfiles\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/cmailcarletonca-my.sharepoint.com\/largestfiles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">largest<\/a>. Delete or archive (move to another storage device) any large files that you no longer need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can also check your OneDrive <a href=\"https:\/\/cmailcarletonca-my.sharepoint.com\/recycle\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/cmailcarletonca-my.sharepoint.com\/recycle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Recycle bin<\/a> to find any files you previously deleted, and mark them for permanent deletion by selecting the file and clicking &#8220;Delete&#8221;. The entire Recycle bin can be emptied by clicking &#8220;Empty recycle bin&#8221; at the top.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To allow you to roll back file changes, OneDrive keeps multiple versions of files you work on. For files that are changed often this can lead excessive storage use. In the OneDrive website <a href=\"https:\/\/cmailcarletonca-my.sharepoint.com\/my\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/cmailcarletonca-my.sharepoint.com\/my\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&#8220;My files&#8221;<\/a> section select a frequently-used file. Then click the three-dot &#8220;overflow&#8221; menu (&#8230;) and select &#8220;Version history&#8221; near the bottom. You can then see all the versions, and delete any you don&#8217;t need using the &#8220;overflow&#8221; menu (&#8230;) for that version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"how-can-i-restore-deleted-files\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">How can I restore deleted files?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All the files you delete within OneDrive get put in the <a href=\"https:\/\/cmailcarletonca-my.sharepoint.com\/recycle\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/cmailcarletonca-my.sharepoint.com\/recycle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Recycle bin<\/a> where they can be restored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If a file has been marked for permanent deletion, it can still be restored within a certain amount of time. Go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/cmailcarletonca-my.sharepoint.com\/secondstagerecyclebin\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/cmailcarletonca-my.sharepoint.com\/secondstagerecyclebin\">Second stage recycle bin<\/a>, select the file, and click on &#8220;Restore&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"copilot\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Copilot<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"are-there-license-differences-when-using-copilot-at-carleton\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Are there license differences when using Copilot at Carleton?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When using a CUNET or CMAIL account to access Copilot there may be different experiences based on your role, and if a license has been purchased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Microsoft 365 <\/strong><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Copilot Chat <\/strong>is included with all Carleton accounts (Faculty, Staff, &amp; Students). It provides for the base-level Copilot Chat experience. Copilot Chat is an AI prompt and response experience using web data and Large Language Models (LLMs) to generate responses. Copilot Chat will use what you write and upload in each chat session to generate a response. All prompts and data are secured within Carleton&#8217;s tenant when using your Carleton account (look for the green shield). No prompt data is shared with Microsoft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Microsoft 365 Copilot<\/strong> (or M365 Copilot) is the app all Faculty, Staff, and Students can use to access the Copilot Chat features. The app is available <a href=\"https:\/\/m365.cloud.microsoft\">online<\/a> and is also installed on all Carleton imaged computers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em class=\"myprefix-text-italic\">Please note<\/em>, the Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat (basic) product is not fully integrated with the M365 Apps &amp; desktop applications, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. M365 Copilot (basic) cannot search and utilize the data within your apps to generate an output. Users must copy and paste information into the chat window in order to formulate the prompt. To gain the full integration of Copilot Chat with the M365 tools, Staff and Faculty can purchase a premium license. Unfortunately Student account holders (@cmail) cannot purchase a premium license from Carleton at this time. Personal use Microsoft Copilot licenses cannot be integrated with your Carleton account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">The Microsoft 365 Copilot (Premium license)<\/strong> is a Faculty &amp; Staff only add-on license that can be <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/its\/all-services\/computers\/site-licensed-software\/microsoft-copilot\/\">purchased<\/a> through ITS to increase the capabilities of Copilot Chat. The premium license fully integrates Copilot with the M365 suite of Office tools.
