\n FASS Faculty Members Receive SSHRC Grants (Including Dr. Jo-Anne LeFevre)\n <\/h1>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

FASS Faculty Members Receive SSHRC Connection Grants<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Congratulations to the following FASS faculty members who were awarded Connection Grants<\/a> in the November 2023 competition:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barbara Leckie (English Language and Literature)<\/strong>, along with a co-applicant at the University of Ottawa, received funding for their project titled \u201cCommon Sense: Planetary Curriculums for a Planetary Commons<\/strong>.\u201d The project will be a six-part podcast series that revives, reframes, and amplifies the idea of the commons for this moment of climate peril.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jo-Anne Lefevre (Cognitive Science)<\/strong> and Carleton colleagues Heather Douglas<\/strong> and Rebecca Merkley<\/strong>, along with co-applicants and collaborators from four other institutions, were funded for the project \u201cMultiplying Student Success in Early Mathematics: Insights from Research-Practice Partnerships<\/strong>.\u201d The grant will fund a summit of the Assessment and Intervention for Mathematics (AIM) Collective<\/a>, a growing community of researchers and educators committed to developing, testing, and sharing math assessment and instruction resources for students ranging from kindergarten to Grade 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emilie Urbain (French and Linguistics and Language Studies)<\/strong>, as well as Carleton colleagues Angel Arias<\/strong>, Jaffer Sheyholislami<\/strong> and Rachelle Vessey<\/strong> and a colleague at Simon Fraser University, were funded for the project \u201cMultidisciplinary Approaches in Language Policy and Planning \u2013 Diversities, Discourses, and Digitalization<\/strong>.\u201d The grant will support the next edition of the conference series Multidisciplinary Approaches in Language Policy in Planning, to be held at Carleton University in June 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
