{"id":16088,"date":"2025-01-14T11:37:29","date_gmt":"2025-01-14T16:37:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/cognitivescience\/?p=16088"},"modified":"2025-01-14T11:49:44","modified_gmt":"2025-01-14T16:49:44","slug":"john-anderson-receives-a-canadian-hearing-services-grant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/cognitivescience\/2025\/john-anderson-receives-a-canadian-hearing-services-grant\/","title":{"rendered":"John Anderson receives a Canadian Hearing Services grant!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Improving the quality of life for deaf and hard of hearing communities.<\/p>\n<p>With support from <a class=\"VqtxQbWoLpIbcJnGtZXbaJEBDNpAbVzwGjIU \" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/canadian-hearing-services\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\" data-test-app-aware-link=\"\">Canadian Hearing Services<\/a> (CHS), <a id=\"ember39\" class=\"ember-view\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/johnaeanderson\/\">John Anderson, Ph.D.<\/a> is leading an impactful study on the link between hearing loss and cognitive reserve \u2014 the brain&#8217;s ability to resist damage caused by aging and pathology.<\/p>\n<p>This research holds tremendous potential to foster breakthroughs in deaf studies and inform interventions that target brain health.
