Since 2007, Karen Schwartz has been practicing community service learning with her master’s research course at Carleton University. As the Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Affairs,\u00a0Karen also promotes research opportunities and develops policy recommendations on matters related to research in the Faculty of Public Affairs.\u00a0She\u2019s intrigued with social work practices, and her research interests include community engaged research and scholarship, mental health issues from the perspective of the psychiatric survivor and mental health needs from multi-cultural groups. On top of her busy schedule at Carleton, Karen is the academic co-chair of CFICE’s Steering Committee and in Phase I, she worked tirelessly as the academic co-lead for CFICE\u2019s Poverty Reduction<\/a> hub.<\/p>\n
