This year, the 5th<\/sup> Anniversary of the NCI Research to Reality community of practice. R2R was developed to engage researchers and practitioners in an ongoing discussion around moving cancer control research into practice.\u00a0 R2R will only be partially successful if R2R fails to build capacity for others to join this essential conversation. R2R is delighted therefore that the February cyber-seminar will introduce a newly released curriculum designed to train community program planners and health educators to locate, select, adapt and implement evidence-based strategies into practice.<\/p>\n

Putting Public Health Evidence in Action is Health<\/i> is an interactive seven-module training curriculum developed by the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Network (CPCRN).\u00a0 CPCRN is a network of eight centers that receive funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Cancer Institute.\u00a0 The training curriculum is intended for public health practitioners, state and local health department staff, health educators, healthcare providers, community advocates, academic\/research faculty and staff, faith-based leaders, and other members of community-based organizations.<\/p>\n

Drs. Jennifer Leeman and Cam Escoffery will introduce the curriculum and how you might adapt and use it to train your staff, students, and community partners.\u00a0 Following their presentations, we will host a robust, interactive discussion with you about your experiences building the capacity of others to move evidence-based programs and policies into practice.<\/p>\n
