Ottawa<\/p><\/div>\n<p>When interviewed by Metro, Sunny Marriner,\u00a0executive director of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.orcc.net\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ottawa Rape Crisis Centre<\/a> and one of CFICE\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/communityfirst\/sector-specific-work\/violence-against-women\/\">Violence Against Women hub<\/a> partners, said that these statistics\u00a0reinforce the need for police to\u00a0allow outside experts to review sexual assault files to determine why the charge rate is so low.<\/p>\n<p>The Ottawa police, however, are confident that sexual assault files are being properly investigated and have claimed that files closed without charges laid are closed for good reason.<\/p>\n<p><a
