Wilfrid Laurier University\u2019s Centre for Sustainable Food Systems<\/a> (CSFS) is seeking a research assistant to gather data that assess the state of Canada\u2019s food systems using existing economic, social, environmental and policy-based indicators. The project will support ongoing research of the CSFS, which uses food systems as a lens for understanding and acting on some of the most pressing issues facing communities.<\/p>\n

The prospective student can be based anywhere in Canada and will work from May \u2013 August 2016 (approximately 15 hours per week) under the supervision of Dr. Charles Levkoe and Dr. Alison Blay-Palmer. Interested students should be registered in a masters or PhD program and have experience working with Statistics Canada data and other types of metrics databases. A strong interest in sustainable food systems and food sovereignty is an asset. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also required.<\/p>\n
