\"Memorial<\/a>The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Memorial University of Newfoundland is undertaking an open search to recruit and nominate an accomplished scholar for a Canada Research Chair (Tier 2) in Northern Governance and Public Policy.\u00a0For this opportunity at Memorial University, the appointment will be at the level of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. Those at the level of Assistant Professor should have qualifications that will warrant promotion to the Associate Professor level within one or two years of the nomination. The position may commence as early as July 2017.\u00a0Candidates should have a strong record of research accomplishment in any relevant social science discipline to apply. Governance and public policy are broadly understood to include the study of formal and informal processes that regulate social, economic and cultural life in the North (e.g., multilevel governance, Aboriginal self-government, organization networks), as well as research bearing on salient policy challenges in Northern Canada (e.g., resource development, climate change, food security). Applicants should have a strong record of research in the North (Canada or elsewhere). The successful candidate will demonstrate an interest in developing, as part of their overall research agenda, a program of research in Labrador.<\/p>\n
