{"id":4886,"date":"2016-11-30T08:00:52","date_gmt":"2016-11-30T13:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/communityfirst\/?p=4886"},"modified":"2016-11-25T13:01:15","modified_gmt":"2016-11-25T18:01:15","slug":"call-abstracts-community-innovation-social-enterprise-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/communityfirst\/2016\/call-abstracts-community-innovation-social-enterprise-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Abstracts: Community Innovation and Social Enterprise Conference &#8211; Submit by March 15, 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <em>Community Economic Development Institute<\/em> of the Shannon School of Business, Cape Breton University, is dedicated to advancing community capacity in economic development<em>.<\/em> Building on the popularity of their\u00a02011, 2013, and 2015 conferences, they\u00a0are organizing another multidisciplinary conference\u00a0focused on \u201cCommunity Innovation &amp; Social Enterprise\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The conference will bring together practitioners, researchers, and community organizations, from home and afar, to discuss current practices, challenges, and innovations in advancing social entrepreneurship and improving community livelihoods.<\/p>\n<p>The conference includes the following themes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Community-based development<\/li>\n<li>Social Enterprises and Innovation<\/li>\n<li>Co-operatives and sustainable business models<\/li>\n<li>Place-based business<\/li>\n<li>Indigenous Enterprise<\/li>\n<li>Entrepreneurship Ecosystems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You are invited to submit a <strong>proposal for a presentation, panel, or roundtable discussion<\/strong>.
