Trent University is accepting applications and expressions of interest for up to two graduate students for a research project involving community-based research as a means to assess how sustainability in the region of Haliburton County is promoted through campus-community partnerships.<\/p>\n

The community partner for the project is the U-Links Centre for Community-Based Research (www.ulinks.ca<\/a>) and the details of the research will be co-designed by the faculty supervisor, U-Links staff, and the graduate student (s). Students will be expected to travel periodically for community meetings in Haliburton and be willing to relocate to Haliburton for an extended period during the summer of 2018.<\/p>\n

Students will be funded by a combination of a Trent University Graduate Teaching Assistantship and a Summer Research Fellowship provided by the Student Pathways Working Group of the Community First: Impacts of Community Engagement (CFICE) SSHRC-CURA grant.<\/p>\n

Ideal candidates will have a solid academic track record, have a strong record of community involvement and interest, be an independent self-starter, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A valid Ontario driver\u2019s license is also required.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll be immersed in a highly interdisciplinary environment, working in close contact with faculty and community partners. Students must be eligible for admission to the Masters of Arts in Sustainability Studies.<\/p>\n
