The position will run from January 22, 2018 to March 31, 2018 (possible spring\/summer 2018 extension), with the student completing an average of 7 hours per week. The position will be compensated at a rate of between $18.00 &#8211; $26.10\/hour depending on the student\u2019s undergraduate or graduate status, and experience.<\/p>\n<p>The CFICE CCE Brokering (Ottawa) Research Assistant shall work under the direct supervision of the CCE Brokering (Ottawa) Community and Academic Co-leads, Jason Garlough and Eileen O\u2019Connor. The RA shall complete the following project, and shall assist with a range of tasks as listed below.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Complete the CCE Brokering Opportunities \u2018Database\u2019 \u2013 March 31, 2018 deadline<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The development of this database involves the following tasks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Becoming familiar with the project: Reading needs assessment and rationale for developing the inventory<\/li>\n<li>Devising preliminary categories &amp; data standards to organize the information and finalize categories (mid February)<\/li>\n<li>Researching and collecting details on all CCE options at the 6 Ottawa post-secondary institutions\n<ul>\n<li>This process will entail finding the opportunities, meeting with the people involved to identify <em>specific<\/em> opportunity details (dates, how to apply, etc.) and verify exact contacts\/information<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Inputting data into the database<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with preparing written summaries for a potential grant application due end of February<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with developing and delivering community presentations (as needed)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other Tasks and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participating (by phone or in-person) in regular CCE Brokering Working Group update meetings and Program Committee meetings (as needed)<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with the completion of the CFICE Quarterly Report<\/li>\n<li>Assisting project leads with writing a journal manuscript<\/li>\n<li>Other duties as required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Current Carleton University Masters student or highly qualified undergraduate student<\/li>\n<li>An interest in the environmental sector is an asset<\/li>\n<li>Excellent English written and verbal communications skills &#8212; <em>applications with grammatical and spelling errors will be automatically <u>excluded<\/u> from consideration<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Ability to read and speak French is an asset<\/li>\n<li>Administrative experience, including meeting coordination and minute-taking<\/li>\n<li>Experience collecting, organizing, processing, and sharing data for non-technical audiences<\/li>\n<li>Experience presenting research findings for non-technical audiences<\/li>\n<li>A proven ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high quality of work<\/li>\n<li>Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills<\/li>\n<li>Independent worker with an ability to prioritize tasks with competing deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable asking questions for clarification and taking initiative<\/li>\n<li>A working knowledge of database applications (e.g. MS Access, Excel, etc.) is an asset<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Submit the following to Nicole Bedford, CFICE Project Manager (<a href=\"&#x6d;&#x61;&#105;l&#x74;&#x6f;&#58;ni&#x63;&#x6f;&#108;e&#x2e;&#x62;&#101;&#100;f&#x6f;&#x72;&#100;&#64;&#x63;&#x61;&#114;&#108;e&#x74;&#x6f;&#110;&#46;&#x63;&#x61;\">&#110;&#x69;&#99;&#x6f;&#108;&#x65;&#46;&#x62;&#101;&#x64;&#102;&#x6f;&#114;&#x64;&#64;&#x63;&#97;&#x72;&#108;&#x65;&#116;&#x6f;&#110;&#x2e;&#99;&#x61;<\/a>; subject: CFICE CCE Brokering RA Position) by end of day January 14, 2018.
