The program aimed to help participants understand, experience, and safely apply ADAS and vehicle automation technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Session 1<\/strong> took place at <strong>AREA X.O<\/strong>, with participants engaging in <strong>hands-on ADAS training in a Lexus vehicle<\/strong>, exploring features such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and lane keeping assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sessions 2\u20134<\/strong> were held in a <strong>classroom setting<\/strong>, combining <strong>lectures, group discussions, and driving simulator practice<\/strong>. These sessions allowed participants to deepen their understanding of ADAS functions, limitations, and real-world applications in a controlled, interactive environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Session 5<\/strong> <span style=\"margin: 0px;padding: 0px\">took place in&nbsp;a parking lot at <strong>Carleton University<\/strong>, where participants practiced using ADAS features in their own cars and reinforced skills through&nbsp;<strong>driving simulator exercises<\/strong>, promoting the&nbsp;<\/span>safe and effective use of vehicle automation technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team is currently <strong>analyzing the data collected during these sessions<\/strong> and plans to <strong>report on the findings in January 2026<\/strong>, providing insights into how novice and mature drivers interact with ADAS and how training can enhance safety, confidence, and accessibility.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From June to October 2025, the CONNECT Project delivered a multi-session training program on Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) for 23 participants\u201410 novice drivers and 13 mature drivers.
