Mitacs’ Globalink Research Award provides financial support for research collaborations between senior undergraduate and graduate students in Canada and universities in select countries around the world. Interested students are responsible for identifying a supervisor at Carleton University and their international destination. All disciplines are eligible. This opportunity supports travel and research from Canada to: Brazil, China, France, India, Israel, Korea, Mexico and Tunisia.

The call for applications opens on September 13, 2017 and closes November 8, 2017.

Eligibility

Students:

  • Must be the legal age of majority in Canada (18 years of age or older)
  • Cannot hold more than one Globalink Research Award per academic lifetime

Undergraduate applicants:

Undergraduate applicants must have completed their second year of studies prior to departure and maintain a B average in their two most recent semesters.

Available Funding

  • Funding amounts vary by international partner and host country
  • Approved recipients will receive funds to support student travel and accommodation expenses, research-related expenses, and student stipend. Mitacs funds will be sent to the home university’s Office of Research Services (or equivalent) and administered as a research grant in the home supervisor’s name.

Submitting Your Checklist

  • Checklists must be submitted via cuResearch, through which Departmental and Associate Dean’s approval must be provided to complete the online application process.
