Important notice regarding NSERC Engage Grants
As you previously stated by the agency, researchers are limited to receive a maximum of one Engage Grant* award per NSERC fiscal year (* Engage Plus awards do not count).
For applicants hoping to qualify for an Engage Grant award that will be assigned the current (2017-18) fiscal year, NSERC has decided that the deadline for application submissions will be: February 1st, 2018.
This deadline has been set so that the Engage evaluation staff will have an adequate amount of time to deal with the inevitable, year-about-to-end surge of applications.
Applicants will also need to build in additional time – ahead of the NSERC deadline — so that CORIS can complete the required reviews and approvals. Please consult with CORIS or your research facilitators on their requirements.
For researchers intending to submit an application for Engage Grant funding by way of the special ‘VIP1-Engage’ joint-funding opportunity that NSERC offers in collaboration with the Ontario Centres of Excellence, please consult with your local OCE business development specialist on the OCE submission deadline and note that it will be earlier than the NSERC deadline for Engage-only applications.
If you have questions or concerns, please contact the NSERC Ontario Regional Office for a discussion.
