Research Seminar: Who Gives A &%?# About Impact?

Please join us in this interactive research seminar designed for faculty, graduate students and research managers at Carleton University interested in Research Impact. This event will feature guest speaker Dr. David Phipps, Ph.D., MBA, Executive Director of Research and Innovation Services at York University and Network Director of Research Impact Canada. Dr. Phipps will discuss why research impact is considered important in universities in Canada and globally, and why institutions and researchers are being evaluated and funded based on their research impact. He will also discuss Canada’s and other countries’ research impact frameworks. This event will also feature Professors Onita Basu, Environmental Engineering and Troy Anderson, Sprott School of Business (Carleton University), who will present their project From Buckets to Rain Barrels as a Carleton multi-faculty model of Research Impact. A new proposed Research Framework for Canada will be presented by Dr. Phipps. Participants will be asked to discuss and provide their feedback.
