Workshopping for a Successful SSHRC Insight Grant

August 30, 2017 at 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Location:Southam Hall
Key Contact:Kyla Reid, Darlene Gilson or Helene Dragatsi

Faculty members are invited to work on, share and receive strategic feedback to improve key, but often overlooked, sections necessary for a competitive and compelling SSHRC Insight Grant. Specifically, this workshop will address how to use these sections to effectively meet the three evaluation criteria of Challenge, Feasibility, and Capability. Applicants are encouraged to bring along printed drafts, laptops, and other working materials to receive and give feedback. Research Facilitators and Associate Deans of Research will also be available to answer questions and review files.

The Insight Grants support research excellence in social sciences and humanities. Funding is available to both, emerging and established scholars for research initiatives of two to five years. New this year, the Insight Grant includes two funding streams: Stream A for budgets ranging from $7K to $100K; and Stream B for requests ranging from $100K to $400K.

Applicants are welcome to join us at their convenience and come and go from sessions, as follows:
