Why apply for research grants? Because they…

Invest in the future since early-career grants lead to later-career funding.

Create opportunities for collaborations, partnerships, and public outreach.

Mobilize new talent by supporting graduate students for research projects.

Allow for dissemination of information while inspiring others to achieve success.

Recommendations for building a strong research grants profile:

  1. Develop a 5-year plan with Faculty Research Facilitators to assess research grant opportunities.
  2. Work with your Institutional Research Facilitator on each grant to draft and edit proposals.
  3. Keep trying if you receive a negative result – it usually takes 2 or 3 attempts at one grant to be successful. Read the feedback carefully and submit again!
