Her work identifies\u00a0new therapeutic targets that can reduce brain damage or restore brain function following injury, progressive neurodegenerative disease, and rare pediatric disease involving lipid accumulation. She utilizes a\u00a0lipidomics approach to cell culture, animal models of disease employing transgenic engineering technologies, and clinical population studies of plasma to learn more about neurodegeneration and neuroregeneration and identify biomarkers of disease progression and therapeutic efficacy.
