Stephan_Schott@ccs.carleton.ca<\/a><\/p>\nStephan Schott is an assistant professor in the School of Public Policy and Administration at Carleton University. A major part of his research focuses on exploitation of common pool resources, and therefore deals with trust, cooperation, social capital and incentives. He is evaluating alternative management instruments that give more authority, ownership and control to local communities. Another research project analyses the regulation of polluting firms that provide public services such as electricity. It contrasts the use of inputs (such as energy sources) from the firm’s point of view with the point of view of society at large (the socially optimal use of various inputs and production facilities).<\/p>\n
