Reporting to the Vice-President (Students and Enrolment) and COVID-19 Lead, the Return to Campus (RTC) Working Group is tasked with setting and monitoring the parameters of a safe return to campus. The RTC working group works closely with Ottawa Public Health in determining the most appropriate safety protocols for various on-campus activities such as classroom conduct and tunnel usage. RTC is also responsible for ensuring that these protocols are supported with appropriate resources.

The return to campus will be gradual and well-planned and will follow all safety and public health guidelines.

Academic Department Return to Campus (ADRTC) Working Group

The Academic Department Return to Campus (ADRTC) Working Group is a sub-committee working group under the Return to Campus (RTC) Committee to assist in the development of return to campus plans for academic departments and to establish guidelines and recommendations including:

  • identifying service standards for email, telephone, online and in-person service
  • how to communicate about how, when and where to access services, including providing language
  • departmental set up including capacity
  • safety and cleaning protocols
  • signage and crowd control measures
  • procurement of equipment and supplies
  • staffing levels
  • other items as identified

Return to the Classroom (RTCR) Working Group

The Return to the Classroom (RTCR) Working Group is a sub-committee of the Return to Campus (RTC) Committee. RTCR is tasked with recommending protocols related to on-campus teaching during the pandemic. The Working Group brings together members of the RTC and academic leaders to identify face-to-face teaching practices that conform to public health guidelines while providing the best possible learning experience for students.
