In light of the recent announcements from Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health and the evolving recommendations from Ottawa Public Health, Carleton has paused its mandatory mask mandate as of June 25, 2022.

Even though masks will no longer be mandatory, we continue to strongly recommend masking when indoors, particularly if physical distancing cannot be maintained.

Please note that as health care facilities, Health and Counselling Services and the Sports Medicine Clinic will continue to require masks at this time.

The policy requires masks to be worn in all university buildings, including offices, classrooms and labs. Members of the Carleton community must continue to wear a three-layer mask that completely and comfortably covers the nose, mouth and chin without gaps and does not allow air to escape from the edges.
