NOTICE: Until Monday, February 7, 2022, research that cannot be performed from home can continue to proceed on campus following public health guidelines for indoor capacity limits.

The resumption of on-campus research activities will need to be progressive in order to be compatible with provincial, health authorities, and municipal policies and guidelines and relevant Carleton policies and procedures.

The Carleton Office for Research Initiatives and Services has created a series of FAQs with the latest available information on how to minimize the impact on research operations while maintaining health and safety.

The Office of the Vice-President (Research and International) has produced an official guide on Principles and Procedures for On-Campus Research at Carleton University.

NOTICE: Federal Government Mandatory Vaccination Requirement

Federal Government Mandatory Vaccination Requirement for any personnel accessing federal government workplaces.

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced its Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. In alignment with this important measure, which does not alter or supersede the Carleton University COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination Policy, any university staff, faculty, or researchers who have cause to access federal government workplaces as a result of a grant or contract held by Carleton, where they may come into contact with public servants, are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 pursuant to the Government’s policy. This requirement is effective on November 15, 2021.

Please note that this is a mandatory federal government requirement and that individuals that are unwilling to be vaccinated will not be permitted to work at federal government workplaces where they may come into contact with public servants, as of November 15, 2021. Government of Canada contracting authorities will be pursuing means to ensure compliance, up to and including contract terminations with those who do not comply with this requirement.
