Choose to be successful. Choose to Bounce Back.

Bounce Back is a mentorship program which provides support to first-year students who are seeking help after a difficult start at Carleton. Participants are matched with trained upper-year CSAS Facilitators who meet with them weekly throughout the Winter term of their first-year, and reconnect in the Fall of their second year to ensure that they are back on track.

Participants will work one-on-one with their facilitator to help them address the issues that led to their academic hardship in first semester. In addition, the facilitators will work with participants to set new goals for their second semester and develop strategies to achieve those goals. The program takes a holistic approach to student success. The partnership will focus primarily on effective learning strategies (i.e. time management, essay and exam preparation, etc.) but is also attentive to the other factors that can pose difficulties to first-year students (i.e. social adjustment, stress, mental health, etc.).
