Researchers, policymakers, housing advocates, service providers, students, and community members came together to discuss housing insecurity and homelessness in Ottawa and across Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speakers and participants examined rising housing costs, the loss of affordable rental housing, and growing pressure on shelters. They also discussed ways forward, including more non-market housing, stronger income supports, earlier help for people at risk of homelessness, and a greater role for people with lived experience in shaping policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The symposium report brings together the presentations, participant discussions, recommendations, and attendee feedback.
