The Indian Council for Cultural Relations, in collaboration with the Canada-India Centre for Excellence, the Institute for Comparative Studies in Literature, Art and Culture, and the School for Studies in Art and Culture at Carleton University is pleased to present Traversing Cultures, Celebrating Life, and Making Art in Post-Independence India, a lecture by R. Siva Kumar, Professor, Art History, Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan. The lecture will take place on Wednesday, March 21 from 6:00-8:00pm in the Lecture Hall of the National Gallery of Canada (380 Sussex Drive).

Prof. Kumar is a leading scholar of modern art in India, specializing in the artistic practices of the Santiniketan School. He is the curator of major exhibitions, “Santiniketan: The Making of Contextual Modernism” and “The Last Harvest: Paintings of Rabindranath Tagore.”
