The Centre for Transnational Cultural Analysis (CTCA) is a research hub based within the Institute for Comparative Studies in Literature, Art and Culture (ICSLAC) at Carleton University. Founded in 2005, at a time when Humanities disciplines were almost exclusively defined by the nation as the organizing unit of analysis, CTCA creates the necessary interdisciplinary connections and networks that increase the impact of transnational research on culture.<\/p>\n

In our current moment of rising xenophobia, ethno-nationalism, and closing borders, the need for new intellectual models of global studies and for alternative histories has taken on still greater urgency. Though studies of the global, transnationalism and migration have been traditionally claimed by the social sciences, CTCA\u2019s initiatives are focused on thinking through the cultural consequences of globalization and how they have reshaped our world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
