CU75 Events in January 2017

January 2017 marks the begining of Carleton University’s 75th Anniversary year! Carleton will host a number of events, conferences and talks each month in 2017, so watch this space for information on what we have planned and how you can get involved. Or check the CU75 events calendar to get a complete view of how the community will be celebrating.

The 4th Carleton Community Art Exhibition

Celebrate the creativity of the Carleton community, through an exhibition of artwork made by Carleton students, staff, faculty and alumni.

Dates: January 13 to January 22, 2017 (Opening reception on January 13 from noon to 1 p.m.)

CU75 Official Launch

Kick off a year of 75th anniversary celebrations in the University Centre Galleria with special displays, games, prizes, contests, give-aways and VIP guests. Open to all!

Launch of Law & Legal Studies’ 50th Anniversary Celebration

January 18 is the kick-off date to begin a year of events in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Department of Law & Legal Studies.

SOAR Student Leadership Conference

The SOAR Student Leadership Conference inspires students to develop leadership skills through interactive workshops and presentations. This year’s keynote speaker is renowned business leader and television personality Arlene Dickinson.

CUAG / DOME Pop-up Concert with Jesse Stewart

This is the first in a series of concerts by Jesse Stewart sponsored by CUAG to celebrate Carleton’s 75th anniversary.

Munro Beattie Lecture: Andre Alexis

In celebration of Carleton’s 75th anniversary, the Dean of FASS and the Department of English present Andre Alexis, Giller Prize Award-Winner and author of Fifteen Dogs. A reception will follow the talk.

Ontario Engineering Competition

Carleton University is hosting this Ontario-wide competition featuring 350 competitors and six categories. Winners and runners-up will represent Ontario at the national level.
